Vivo has officially expanded its premium V-series lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V70 and the Vivo V70 Elite. Positioned as successors to the Vivo V60, these mid-range contenders introduce a refreshed design language and a sophisticated camera system co-engineered with Zeiss.

While the series currently consists of two models, Vivo has not yet confirmed if more variants will join the lineup later this year.

Both the Vivo V70 and V70 Elite sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED display featuring a 1.5K resolution ($2750 \times 1260$ pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. A standout feature is the peak brightness, which reaches a staggering 5,000 nits, ensuring perfect visibility even under direct sunlight.

EV tires wear out faster: The tires of electric cars wear out more quickly than those of regular vehicles. Several reports have claimed this, and many customers have noticed it themselves. But what is the reason? Let’s find out.

Electric cars are currently gaining a lot of popularity. Many people are switching from petrol and diesel vehicles to EVs. Although there is still confusion regarding their range and resale value, their sales are gradually increasing. Along with range and resale, there is now growing discussion about the lifespan of EV tires. It is often said that they wear out faster than those of petrol cars. Several reports have made this claim. But is it true? Let’s understand.

Whenever a vehicle is driven fast, brakes are applied, or sharp turns are taken, every tire wears down. With every rotation, tires release tiny particles. However, this process happens a bit more in EVs. According to a Michelin report, tires in electric vehicles wear out about 20% faster than those in internal combustion engine vehicles. This means that if a normal car tire lasts 10,000 kilometers, an EV tire may last around 8,000 kilometers. Here’s why.

Weight

Electric cars have large battery packs, which significantly increase their weight. The result? More load on the tires. Extra weight causes the tires to compress and bend more, which can increase rolling resistance. Higher rolling resistance means more energy is required to rotate the tires. To deal with this issue, EVs use low rolling resistance and energy-efficient tires to keep energy consumption lower.

Torque

Torque is essential to pull and move any vehicle forward. EVs deliver torque and speed instantly. This is why many electric cars can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about three seconds. Tires designed for electric vehicles use special rubber compounds and tread patterns to provide better grip and handling. They are also designed with low rolling resistance to improve efficiency. However, the combination of higher weight, instant torque, and the need for better grip causes these tires to wear out faster.

Driving Style

How you drive plays the biggest role in tire life. If you drive at high speeds, apply sudden brakes instead of gradual braking, or drive aggressively, the tires will wear out faster.

Maintenance

Proper tire care is also essential. Tire pressure, wear condition, tire rotation, and wheel alignment should be checked regularly. The better the maintenance, the longer the tires will last.

So What Is the Solution?

Maintenance is the first solution. Proper care of tires is important. If air pressure and wheel alignment are ignored, tires can wear out much faster. Secondly, when EV tires wear out and need replacement, do not install regular car tires on an electric vehicle. EV tires are specially designed for better handling, higher weight capacity, and high torque performance.

If gasoline car tires are used in an EV, it can affect performance and compromise low rolling resistance and energy efficiency. It may also impact handling and prevent the vehicle from fully utilizing its torque.

The way users log in to digital platforms is undergoing a significant transformation. Traditional passwords, which have been in use for decades, are gradually being replaced by passkey-based login systems, which are widely regarded as more secure and convenient.

Passkeys allow users to sign in without typing a password. Authentication is carried out using a digital credential stored on a mobile phone or computer and verified through fingerprint scanning, Face ID, or a device PIN.

How Passkeys Differ from Passwords

Passwords have long been vulnerable to phishing attacks, data breaches, and hacking incidents. The repeated use of the same password across multiple platforms further increases security risks.

Passkeys, however, store the user’s private authentication key securely on the device itself and do not share it with servers, significantly reducing the risk of cyberattacks.

Surat: In a remarkable breakthrough showcasing the future of law enforcement, the Dahod district police unit—located in what is often described as Gujarat’s most remote and tribal region—has successfully leveraged AI-powered drone surveillance to detect and destroy concealed narcotic plantations. The operation resulted in seizures valued at nearly Rs 1.9 crore, marking a historic first for India.

This is the first-ever instance in the country where AI-integrated drones have been deployed to uncover drug cultivation—an achievement even major technology-driven metro cities have not yet matched.

Until recently, identifying drug cultivation hidden deep within forests and hill regions posed major challenges. Conventional drone cameras provided images that were often inconclusive, with cannabis plants appearing similar to okra, toor, or even saptaparni from the sky.

To overcome this, the Dahod police developed and refined a system that uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to distinguish cannabis from other vegetation. Using free yet reliable online platforms (similar to plant-species recognition tools used by botanists), police teams created bespoke software to scan drone images.

When drones fly over farmlands or jungle patches, the AI system highlights suspected cannabis plantations in yellow, filtering out other foliage. After a year of fine-tuning, the system now operates with 80% accuracy. Since its deployment in 2024, it has successfully identified eight hidden marijuana plantations.

Superintendent of Police Rajdeepsinh Zala credited his team’s persistence:

 “Earlier, officers had to physically approach suspicious fields, often risking exposure. AI has changed everything.”

Local Tribal Youth at the Forefront of High-Tech Policing

A striking dimension of this achievement is who is operating the technology. Many of the constables running drone systems come from local tribal families—now trained, empowered, and deployed in cutting-edge policing.

Their success, officers say, symbolizes a transformation where “the world’s best technology is now being used by the sons of our soil.”

Harsh Sanghavi Hails Dahod’s Innovation

Reacting to the development, Gujarat’s Home and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi praised the Dahod police for proving that technology-led policing is not limited to major cities.

In his recent address on modern policing, Sanghavi said:

“Gujarat is building a model where technology becomes the backbone of safety. Even our remotest districts are showing India how artificial intelligence can protect society. Dahod’s achievement demonstrates that when innovation meets dedication, policing becomes smarter, faster, and more just.”

He reaffirmed that the state is committed to AI-enabled policing, drones for surveillance, and skill-building for police personnel across districts.
