If you can imitate the sounds of a langur monkey, you have a great opportunity to work at the Delhi Legislative Assembly. To tackle the monkey problem in the assembly premises, the Delhi government is planning to hire people who can mimic langur calls. The Public Works Department (PWD) has even issued a tender for this, which has become a topic of much discussion.

According to the report, officials say that several monkeys are frequently seen in and around the assembly complex. These monkeys cause damage by jumping on electrical wires and satellite dishes. Their presence has also raised concerns about the safety of legislators, staff, and visitors.

To address this problem, the Public Works Department (PWD) has issued a tender for individuals who can mimic the sounds of langurs. This method is considered effective because it can scare the monkeys away without harming them. Officials added that the hired personnel may also bring a langur with them to help deter the monkeys.

The shifts will be 8 hours long.

An official said that installing langur statues in the premises doesn't seem to be helping, as the monkeys are no longer afraid of them and are often seen sitting on top of the statues.

The official added that a new tender has now been issued to hire some trained personnel for this purpose. Under the scheme, these individuals will work from Monday to Saturday. Each person will work an 8-hour shift. Insurance coverage will also be provided for the deployed staff.
