The recent announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan has become a hot topic of intense discussion in political and military circles. Shashi Tharoor, a Senior Congress leader and a foreign policy expert who also worked as a junior foreign minister earlier, made a significant statement regarding the matter, clearly asserting that the ceasefire had nothing to do with U.S. President Donald Trump. Instead, it was the result of India’s military strength and the firm policies of the Modi government. Tharoor stated that the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) had requested peace from India, which led to the agreement.

Under “Operation Sindoor,” the Indian Army carried out precise and powerful attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan, forcing them to retreat. Launched on May 7 as a response to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, the operation successfully destroyed terror camps in major Pakistani cities and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). We used home grown drones and an advanced air defense system, showcasing our capabilities on a global stage.

The political will of the Modi government played a crucial role in this success. The government had made it clear that any act of terrorism would be treated as an act of war and would be met with a strong response. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, India responded not only militarily but also exerted diplomatic pressure on Pakistan. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri revealed that Pakistan’s DGMO reached out to his Indian counterpart on May 10 to initiate peace talks, which were accepted on India’s terms.

This event has showcased India's ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism to the world. Through valor and technological superiority, the Indian Army sent a clear message to its adversaries that India will no longer remain silent in the face of terrorism. The Modi government’s resolute policies and the Indian military’s efficiency have elevated the nation’s prestige, earning recognition and appreciation at the global level.

India is a nation where diversity and unity bloom hand in hand. Today, the country is showcasing an extraordinary sense of unity in its fight against terrorism. The bravery and success demonstrated by the Indian armed forces in countering terrorists from Pakistan evoke immense pride in every Indian's heart. 

This success belongs not only to the armed forces or the government but is also a result of the opposition leaders' cooperation and spirit of national unity. Leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Asaduddin Owaisi, and Farooq Abdullah have set an exemplary standard of patriotism by extending their support to the government in the national interest.

At a time when terrorism has become a major global challenge, India’s firm and decisive stance on the issue sends a powerful message to the world. This operation by the Indian Army is not just a response to terrorists—it is a symbol of the country's integrity and self-respect. 

The unity demonstrated between the government and the opposition shows that when it comes to national interest, political differences take a backseat. By supporting the efforts of the government and the army, Rahul Gandhi has fulfilled his duty as a statesman. Owaisi and Farooq Abdullah, too, through their statements, have made efforts to strengthen national unity.

This incident proves that Indian politics—often known for division and controversy—can come together during times of national crisis. This unity is not limited to political leaders; it can be seen among the citizens of the country as well. Every Indian today feels proud of the bravery of our soldiers and is uniting in the nation's interest. This spirit of unity is a symbol of India’s strength, which helps establish us as a powerful nation on the global stage.

The fight against terrorism and for national security is a long-term effort, requiring the cooperation of the government, opposition, and citizens alike. The SkyStriker drone, a loitering munition (also known as a kamikaze drone), manufactured in Bengaluru by Adani Defence and Aerospace, is a shining example of the Make in India initiative. The drone was used in ‘Operation Sindoor’ to carry out precise surgical strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. It showcased India’s growing military self-dependence and technological advancement.

Make in India is not just a slogan but a powerful strategy focussed at achieving India’s economic and security goals. In collaboration with Israel’s Elbit Systems, Adani Defence and Aerospace is making the SkyStriker drone at its Bengaluru unit. With a range of 100 kilometers and a 5–10 kg warhead, this drone meets the needs of modern warfare. During Operation Sindoor, targeted strikes were carried out on terrorist camps belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, showing the drone’s precision and India’s military capabilities.

Firms like Adani Defence are providing a platform for the country’s young engineers, scientists, and technicians to develop globally competitive tech. These efforts are also generating employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector and reducing India’s dependence on foreign tech. After the Balakot airstrike in 2019, the Indian Army placed an order for 120 SkyStriker drones in 2021, marking a significant step in promoting indigenous product under Make in India.

The great success of the SkyStriker drone shows India’s emergence as a global leader in the manufacturing of military equipment. With its lightweight design, precision targeting, and high efficiency at a very low cost, the drone is an ideal tool for modern warfare. Such innovations are strengthening India’s defense strategy and establishing Indian companies in global markets.

To recognize the achievements of indian companies like Adani Defence is to salute the talent, innovation, and patriotism of India’s youth. These companies are not only enhancing national security but also contributing to economic growth. To advance the spirit of Make in India, we must all support such companies so that India can become truly self-reliant and strengthen its position on the global stage.
