We need to become good taxpayers and inspire tax evaders to pay taxes and fulfill their duty for the country

The Income Tax Department plays an important role in the economic development and progress of our country India. This department is not just a means of collecting taxes but is a strong pillar of the development of the nation. During the tenure of PM Narendra Modi, the Income Tax Department has created a more transparent, simple and reliable system for taxpayers through many reforms and digital transformation.

The biggest contribution of the Income Tax Department is in the revenue of the government. Today, the share of direct taxes (income) in the total revenue of India is more than 60%. This amount is used in the basic development of the country such as roads, railways, airports, hospitals, schools, defense and public enterprises and public sector schemes. Income tax revenue plays an important role in increasing education, health, poverty alleviation and employment opportunities. In this way, every taxpayer becomes an indirect partner in the building of the nation directly through his taxes.

In recent years, features like 'faceless assessment', 'faceless appeal' and e-filing have made the tax system more transparent and fair. Taxpayers can now file ITR from home, get refunds and complete the process on time. The fast processing of ITR refunds and the digital payment system have increased the confidence of the taxpayers of the country. Today, the number of taxpayers in India is increasing rapidly, which is a clear indication of voluntary compliance.

The Income Tax Department has also done important work against black money and in improving the economy. Due to specific reforms, tax evasion has reduced and the economic system has become stronger. The team of this department works day and night to serve the interest of the country, which is a commendable subject.

Filing income tax is not only a legal duty but also a symbol of patriotism. When we pay taxes, we contribute to building a prosperous, developed India. The Income Tax Department is moving forward on the path of making India a leading economic power in the world with the cooperation of all of us. So first of all, as an aware citizen, we need to become a good taxpayer and inspire tax evaders to pay taxes and fulfill their duty to the country.
