Gas Geyser in Bathroom proving Dangerous, know why?
In Jalandhar, Punjab, the daughter of a Shiv Sena leader died of suffocation due to a gas leak from a geyser. When she didn't come out of the bathroom for a long time, her family broke down the door.
A 22-year-old woman died of suffocation on her birthday in Jalandhar, Punjab. She died due to a gas leak from a geyser in the bathroom. The woman's name was Munmun, and she was the daughter of Deepak Kamboj, a leader of the Shiv Sena party. Munmun's birthday was on January 1st, the first day of the new year. Her father, Deepak, said that preparations were underway at home for the New Year and his daughter's birthday. Close relatives and friends had also been invited to the house.

How did the gas leak happen?
Munmun went to the bathroom to take a bath. When she turned on the geyser for the shower, gas started leaking from the geyser pipe. She started suffocating due to the gas and couldn't even call for help. Munmun fainted in the bathroom, and soon the entire bathroom filled with gas. When Munmun didn't come out of the bathroom for a long time, her family members knocked on the door. When they received no response, their worry increased. They broke down the door. Munmun, who was lying unconscious, was immediately taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared her dead on arrival.

The husband, Harjinder, worked in a government office. His wife, Renu, had a fractured arm. That day, Renu went to the bathroom to take a bath. Her husband was also present in the bathroom to assist her. As soon as they turned on the geyser, both of them started suffocating due to a gas leak and fainted. When the neighbors didn't see any activity for a long time, they informed the police. When the police broke down the bathroom door, both of them were found dead. In the initial investigation, the police stated that the couple died due to a gas leak.
Why shouldn't you install a gas geyser in the bathroom?
Oxygen Depletion: Gas geysers require a lot of oxygen to operate. In a small, enclosed room like a bathroom, the geyser consumes all the oxygen in the air, leading to suffocation.
Carbon Monoxide Hazard: When the geyser is running, it releases carbon monoxide gas. This is a colorless and odorless gas that cannot be detected. Once inhaled, it directly affects the brain, causing the person to lose consciousness without any chance of escape.
Safety Measures:
Install the geyser outside the bathroom: Experts advise that gas geysers should always be installed outside the bathroom (such as on a balcony or in an open area) and the hot water pipe should be brought inside from there.
An exhaust fan is essential: If the geyser is inside, be sure to install a powerful exhaust fan and turn it on before operating the geyser.
