Joy of Giving: Wheelchair Donation Drive for Differently-Abled Children in Ahmedabad

The Federation of Indian Associations of USA (FIA NY–NJ–CT–NE), the largest and premier grassroots nonprofit organization established in 1970, representing the Indian community across eight states on the East Coast of the United States, is proud to announce “Joy of Giving,” a compassionate wheelchair donation drive dedicated to supporting differently-abled children.

The initiative will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in the presence of FIA Chairman Mr. Ankur Vaidya and FIA President Mr. Sreekanth Akkapalli, at the following venue:

As part of this humanitarian effort, 100 wheelchairs will be donated to children in need, helping enhance mobility, independence, and dignity.

Carried out under the message “Because Every Child Deserves to Move Forward,” the event underscores the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities for children with physical challenges. The initiative aims to positively impact the daily lives of these children by enabling greater participation in education, social interaction, and community life.

Speaking on the occasion, FIA leadership emphasized the organization’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community service, noting that initiatives such as “Joy of Giving” reflect FIA’s core values of compassion, inclusivity, and service to humanity.

The Federation of Indian Associations has a long-standing tradition of service and philanthropy, both in the United States and India. The “Joy of Giving” initiative reflects FIA’s continued commitment to uplifting underserved communities and fostering meaningful change through collective compassion and action.

As a 100% volunteer-run organization with over five decades of dedicated service, FIA has earned official recognition in the United States Congressional Record, been honored with India’s prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, and holds two Guinness World Records, further underscoring its credibility, impact, and legacy of service.
