Relationship between teacher and minor student is completely immoral: Now it is time to set limits

Recently a very shocking incident came to light in Surat, where a 23-year-old female teacher and a 13-year-old student had a physical relationship. Then the teacher became pregnant - this is a very serious and worrying issue for our society. This incident is not only a legal issue, but it also hides many psychological, social and educational issues which now need to be seriously considered.

First of all, a 13-year-old student is legally considered a child minor. According to Indian law, any kind of physical relationship with a person below the age of 18 - even if it is consensual - is considered a crime. In this case, despite the consent of the student, the teacher is being prosecuted under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. 

This law has been brought for the physical and mental safety of children. Strict legal action will be taken against the teacher in this case. If the charges are proved, he can get a long sentence. However, on the other hand, one thing that needs to be considered is that even if the child is not yet socially or mentally mature, he is already mature in terms of having physical relations. Given this, don't you think there is a need to reconsider the provisions and law of sexual maturity?

This can increase the possibility of misdirection in future. Now the time has come to implement ethical guidelines in teachers' curriculum. It has become necessary to set rules regarding the limits of behavior with children.

This incident has also had a big impact on society. Parents are now worried about the safety of their children in schools. The reputation of the education system has also been tarnished. Therefore, schools and educational institutions need to be more aware and responsible. Providing a safe and ethical environment for the psychological development of children is the biggest demand of the time today.

We should not look at this incident as just a "sensitive news" but as a deep problem of child safety, education system and the moral fabric of the society. Such cases draw our attention to a big question: Are we selecting our teachers correctly? Are teachers being given proper psychological and ethical training?

In earlier times, the chances of such incidents were less due to limited means of communication. But now it has increased. There is a great possibility of it increasing in the future. Parents need to pay special attention to this and take immediate steps to stop your child when he is behaving emotionally towards the teacher. Everyone should come together and decide some guidelines in this regard. If we do this, then big problems will not arise in the future for both teachers and students.
